Meet The Team

Dr. Geoff Teakle
VETERINARY SURGEON / PRACTICE OWNER
Like Ian Healy and Billie Brown, Dr Geoff Teakle is a proud boy from Biloela who left home at 17 to study veterinary science at the University of Queensland. Graduating in 1976, Geoff spent nearly five decades dedicating his life to veterinary medicine. While highly experienced in all aspects of surgery and medicine, his true superpower has always been his capacity for honest, open communication with his clients.
Dr Geoff has now stepped back from his professional duties, handing over the reins to a new cohort of experienced veterinarians who are proud to carry on his legacy of high-quality service, integrity, and exceptional care.

Dr. Linda Pinches

She has been a trusted pillar of the Coorparoo Veterinary Clinic team for over 25 years, bringing a remarkable 35 years of total veterinary experience, including invaluable time practicing in New Zealand and England.
Outside of the clinic, Linda is a proud mother of three and a doting grandmother. She is incredibly active and creative, enjoying crochet, live music, and playing the piano. When she isn’t training for a marathon, you might spot her cycling to work or being enthusiastically hauled around the neighborhood by her dog. Just don’t ask her how her home renovations are going, they are never-ending!

Dr. Elizabeth Pitman

Dr Elizabeth Pitman is a highly experienced veterinary surgeon who joined the Coorparoo Vet Clinic team in 2021.

Known for having the biggest heart and an incredibly kind, gentle nature, Elizabeth treats every patient as if they were her own. Her primary areas of interest are canine and feline medicine, alongside preventative care, ensuring your beloved companions always receive the absolute best support and warmth during their visit.

Dr Kath grew up just around the corner from Coorparoo Veterinary Clinic, where she worked as an evening receptionist while studying veterinary science at the University of Queensland. After graduating in 2005, she worked in mixed practice in the Lockyer Valley and taught at the UQ clinic in Dayboro before returning "home" to us.
A highly versatile clinician, Katherine also works in emergency care at BVECCS, as well as with the RSPCA and Animal Welfare League (AWL).
In addition to traditional medicine, Katherine performs veterinary acupuncture and is passionate about developing holistic, tailored care programmes for your pet, supporting your family from puppyhood all the way through to compassionate end-of-life care.

Dr. Jason Poon
VETERINARY SURGEON
Dr Jason is our newest veterinarian, joining the Coorparoo Veterinary Clinic team in 2025. His history with our team runs deep, having initially worked in a mixed practice alongside our lovely Nurse Lily in the Sunshine Coast district back in 2016.
Jason has a profound passion for shelter medicine and animal welfare, which led him to work alongside Dr Katherine at the RSPCA. Today, he balances his time between Coorparoo Vet and the Animal Welfare League (AWL), dedicating his expertise to surgery, welfare initiatives, and compassionate geriatric care for aging pets.
When he isn’t at the clinic, Jason loves hitting the slopes for some skiing and exploring the world through travelling.

Lily
VETERINARY NURSE
Lily joined our team in 2021, having first started her journey with animals as a trainee veterinary nurse on the Sunshine Coast back in 2016 (where she initially worked alongside our very own Dr Jason!).
After finishing high school and moving to Brisbane, Lily briefly studied human nursing before realising her true calling lay in caring for four-legged patients. With over seven years of experience working across multiple general practice clinics in Brisbane, she is a highly skilled and compassionate nurse who also loves giving back to the community by volunteering with Pets in the Park.
Outside of the clinic, Lily is always up to something fun. She enjoys hiking, roller skating, playing pool, crafting, getting lost in a good book, and catching live music.

Chloe
VETERINARY NURSE
Chloe joined our team in early 2023, bringing valuable experience from her introduction to nursing in a busy emergency hospital. Since then, she has worked across multiple general practice clinics in Brisbane, always loving the strong relationships she forms with clients and their beloved fur-babies along the way.
In her spare time, Chloe enjoys cuddling up with her two kitties, George and Luka, spending relaxing days by the beach, and diving headfirst into her latest craft hyper-fixation.

Sophie
VETERINARY NURSE
Sophie joined our team in 2023 as a deeply passionate animal lover. Over the years, she has cared for an incredibly diverse range of pets, having owned everything from alpacas to fish!
In her spare time, Sophie enjoys horse riding and the creative art of aquascaping. She is always eager to expand her skills and genuinely loves welcoming all your wonderful companions to the clinic.
In addition to her role with us, Sophie also works with Goodbye Good Boy, where she dedicates her time to providing compassionate support and guidance to owners during their most vulnerable moments of pet loss.

Laura
